HERE are the selections you will need for this tutorial
Instructions
Open a new transparent image. Size 656px wide, 526px high. All layers created will be raster.
1. Create a new
layer. Load selection, orange stripe. Flood fill with color
#E47B3A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #B64614, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
2. Create a new
layer. Load selection, yellow stripe. Flood fill with color
#F1DD97. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #DE9522, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
3. Create a new
layer. Load selection, white stripe. Flood fill with
color white. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #595985, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
4. Create a new
layer. Load selection, red stripe. Flood fill with
color #C00000. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #400000, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
5. Create a new
layer. Load selection, green stripe. Flood fill with
color #44725B. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #142019, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
6. Create a new
layer. Load selection, green stripe. Flood fill with
color #44725B. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #142019, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
7. Create a new
layer. Load selection, blue stripe. Flood fill with
color #4A4CAC. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #000040, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=11.5. Deselect.
8. Create a new
layer. Load selection, ball end. Flood fill with
color white. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #000040, V=0, H=0, Opacity=68, Blur=10. Deselect.
9. Create a new
layer. Load selection, left shoe bottom. Flood fill with
color #5B9F93. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #213733, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=15. Deselect.
10. Create a new
layer. Load selection, left leg and foot. Flood fill with
color #CCB48A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=16, H=16, Opacity=100, Blur=28. Keep selected, apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=-4, H=16, Opacity=100, Blur=22.5. Selections, Modify Contract 1, Selections, Invert. Press Delete key once. Deselect
11. Create a new
layer. Load selection, left shoe strap. Flood fill with
color #5B9F93. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #213733, V=-9, H=6, Opacity=55, Blur=8.5. Deselect.
12. Create a new
layer. Load selection, right shoe bottom. Flood fill
with color #5B9F93. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #213733, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=12.5/ Keep selected, apply cutout again, changing V to 9. Deselect.
13. Create a new
layer. Load selection, right leg and foot. Flood fill with
color #CCB48A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=-4, H=16, Opacity=100, Blur=22.5. Selections, Modify Contract 1, Selections, Invert. Press Delete key once. Deselect. On the same layer, load right selection, right foot highlights, flood fill once only with white. Deselect.
14. Create a new
layer. Load selection, right shoe strap. Flood fill
with color #5B9F93. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #213733, V=-4, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=12.5. Deselect.
15. Create a new
layer. Load selection, left sleeve. Flood fill with
color white. Selections, Float. Keep selected, and with your line tool, set at size=15, color #AB1F1F, Bezier Curve, anti-alias checked, draw 2 to 3 slightly curved lines evenly spaced. You can leave this step out if you can't manage the Bezier Tool. Apply cutout, color #701616, V=0, H=19, Opacity= 60, Blur=19. Deselect.
16. Create a new
layer. Load selection, body. Flood fill with
color #CCB48A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=42.5. Keep selected. Apply cutout again, but change V=19, and Blur=35. Selections, Modify Contract 1, Selections, Invert. Press Delete key once. Deselect.
17. Create a new
layer. Load selection, shirt. Flood fill with color
white. Selections, Float. Keep selected, and draw lines with the Bezier Curve tool as before, trying to match the lines on the shirt to the sleeves if possible. As before, you can leave this step out and just apply cutout, color #701616, V==11, H=16, Opacity=100, Blur=42.5. Selections, Modify Contract 1, Selections, Invert. Press Delete key once. Deselect.
18. Create a new
layer. Load selection, duck ring. Flood fill with color
#E9D78B.
Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #F7A119, V=0, H=0,
Opacity=100, Blur=20. Deselect.
19. Create a new
layer. Load selection, duck ring beak. Flood fill with
color #E47B3A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #CA5E1C, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=20. Apply cutout once more. Deselect. On the same layer, load duck ring shade. Flood fill with color #B0281A. Deselect.
20. Create a new
layer. Load selection, right arm. Flood fill with
color #CCB48A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, H=0, V=0, Opacity=0, Blur=30. Deselect.
21. Create a new
layer. Load selection, towel inside. Flood fill with
color #F3EEC9. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #DCCC62, V=11, H=-33, Opacity=100, Blur=30. Deselect.
22. Create a new
layer. Load selection, stripe on towel inside. Flood fill
with color #5B9F93. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #213733, V=0, H=0, Blur=10. Deselect.
23. Create a new
layer. Load selection, left arm. Flood fill with color
#CCB48A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=22.8. Deselect.
24. Create a new
layer. Load selection, towel top. Flood fill with color
#F3EEC9. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #DCCC62, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=20. Deselect.
25. Create a new
layer. Load selection, stripe on towel top. Flood fill
with color #5B9F93. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #213733, V=0, H=0, Blur=10. Deselect.
26. Create a new
layer. Load selection, right sleeve. Flood fill with
color white. Selections, Float. Keep selected, and with your line tool, set at size=15, color #AB1F1F, Bezier Curve, anti-alias checked, draw 2 to 3 slightly curved lines evenly spaced. You can leave this step out if you can't manage the Bezier Tool. Apply cutout, color #701616, V=0, H=0, Opacity= 85, Blur=21.5. Deselect.
27. Create a new
layer. Load selection, ears. Flood fill with color #CCB48A.
Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=21.5. Deselect.
28. Create a new
layer. Load selection, inner ears. Flood fill once
only with #8F703F Deselect.
29. Create a new
layer. Load selection, head. Flood fill with color
#CCB48A. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur=40. Deselect.
30. Create a new
layer. Load selection, head shade. Flood fill once
only with color #8F703F. Deselect.
31. Create a new
layer. Load selection, muzzle. Flood fill with color
#E2D3BC. Selections, Float. Apply cutout, color #8F703F, V=0, H=0, Opacity=100, Blur-35. Selections, Modify Contract 1, Selections, Invert. Press Delete key once. Deselect. On the same layer, using your Draw tool, foreground black, background, null, size 1 or 2, Single Line, draw a straight line from the nose at a slight angle about 2/3 down his muzzle. 32. Create a new layer. Load selection, nose. Flood fill with color black. Deselect. Apply inner bevel with default Round preset. On the same layer, load selection, eyes. Flood fill with black. Deselect. Apply the same inner bevel you used on the nose.
Go to Layers, Merge Visible, and save as a PSP file, or export as a
tube.
